These are the basic rules for the safe handling and use of firearms that should ALWAYS be observed and practiced by EVERYONE:
1. Treat every gun as if it is loaded.
2. Always keep your gun pointed in a safe direction.
3. Keep your finger off of the trigger unless you are intending/ready to shoot.
Being safe with and around firearms is really the most important consideration!
Undesirable or unintended firearm "discharge" events are generally classified into either an "accidental discharge" event or a "negligent discharge" event.
